Golf in Phoenix Arizona is special - no matter where you decide to play. Living in Scottsdale, occasionally we like to try
different parts of Arizona. Just to keep our putter in so to speak. Many times our wine group will travel as a golf group and the various close locations to Phoenix and Scottsdale golf, make it fun to get away. If you're coming
from out of town, you could base yourself in Tucson or Phoenix and still play many of the top golf courses in the world. Prescott (pronounced "Preskit" for all you out-of-towners) has many great courses and has
Arizona's only links course, lined by many different tree types. Antelope Hills by name, built back in the 50's, and of course, as you would expect many changes have taken place. Hassayampa - a posh new real estate development
and beautiful golf course, if you're looking for retirement is a different are and of Hale Irwin recently completed Prescott Lakes, a fun course with possibly the most beautiful views in Arizona. Prescott has a small-town
quality that's hard to beat. Cottonwood is close by with lots of shops, and you can explore Jerome, the old mining town or shoot on up to Sedona - Red Rock country. Something to consider if you plan that golf vacation for
Phoenix. In just 2 hours or less you can have a whole different perspective of Phoenix Arizona golf.

If you decide to drive south 2 - 3 hours you can go stay and play Tubac Country Club ( a little south of
Tucson) on the way to Nogales. It's just a little old country club dating back to the 1920's, but you'll love every nook and cranny from the western dining room to the casitas where movie stars stayed and played! in the olden
days. The Phoenix Arizona course is in good shape right now and the movie "Tin Cup" was filmed on it's back nine. The town of Tubac - just down the road is filled with small shops, so if the wife goes along, she's
happy and you're happy. Tumacacori is the ruins of an old mission that never ceases to be a wonder, and horse back riding and hiking through the Santa Cruz mountains are favorite past times.

On the western side of Arizona is the London Bridge at Lake Havasu - Yeh! you heard me right the London Bridge, back in the late 70's
some guy hads the wild idea of buying the London Bridge and bringing it over and that's exactly what happened. It's like an English Village. You may lose your head on the golf courses over there, but you'll be safe from the
Tower. Emerald Canyon Golf Course is so wild they sell tee shirts that read "I survived the Emerald Canyon Golf Course". got your attention yet? You can get killed on #4 as no matter where your ball may land - it will
probably ricochet off the canyon walls. Maybe you should just confine your visit to fishing on the Colorado River! Parker is where the Wild West is still alive and well!
